× This show is an International TheatreSports Festival performance:
The Improv World is coming to VTS from October 14 – 20 when we will be playing host to the International TheatreSports Institute (iTi) Conference and Festival. The iTi is the largest improv network in the world. Every two years they convene a conference and improv festival that brings together improvisers from around the globe. The theme of this year’s festival is ImproV Ecology in recognition of how the improv art form has evolved around the world to reflect the influences it receives from different cultural terroirs. The Festival showcases improv formats created by iTi founder Keith Johnstone (e.g. Theatresports™, Gorilla Theatre™, Maestro Impro™ and The Life Game™), along with signature performances by some of the visiting international delegates and companies. All shows will take place on Granville Island. In addition to our own theatre, The Improv Centre, we will also be performing at the Waterfront Theatre and at the Nest Studio Theatre - all three venues are only a short walk apart from each other.

Performance Notes

The audience jumps on a bus with masked Mexican luchador El Jaguar for a hilarious one-hour tour of the city where the focus is on fiesta not facts. Seating is very limited as the performance actually happens on a bus as it wends its way through Vancouver. Three performances: Fri. Oct.18, 5 p.m. and Sat. Oct.19, 5 p.m. and Sun.Oct.20, 5 p.m. All performances on a bus – embarkation point TBA, bus leaves promptly at 5 p.m.

This is a festival seating performance - the seats are on a first come, first serve basis when you arrive at the theatre.

For The Late Show performances, doors open 5-10 minutes prior to the performance.
