ICI Studio
× The goal of this workshop is to plant all the seeds we need in order to implement all the inclusion tools according to your needs and your culture. This workshop is organized in two different sections - the first is a discovery, designing, mapping, discussing session facilitated in order to create the commune culture from a gender, diversity and inclusion perspective. In the second part we will discover how to use the instruments we discussed directly inside of our scenes. We will touch topics like boundaries and stereotypes, discovering what makes us uncomfortable, how to use our empathy improv tools to be always respectful and not stifle any voices. We will design the specific inclusion map for the group, in that society, in that culture, in order to respect everyone’s sensibility and personal space, because everybody deserves to feel comfortable at the same level on stage, off of it and around it.

Masks and Trance w/ Steve Jarand- iTi Public Workshop Sunday October 20 2019 at 2:00 PM

ICI Studio
× The final chapter of Keith Johnstone’s book Impro describes tribal mask transformations and possession cults as well as a beginner mask class for western improvisers. Many have been perplexed by the mask chapter, but still more became intrigued then haunted by the images it conjures and the potential power the mask holds. In this workshop we’ll use mask work to go directly into the heart of improvisation. We’ll employ the simple trigger of a mirror and sounds to discover the feeling of ‘following the mask’ and allowing it to discover itself. Come experience for yourself what happens when we conjure ‘the thing in the mirror.’
